The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued a three-day-old baby boy abducted from his mother’s home and arrested two suspects linked to the crime. The infant was taken on March 28 after two men reportedly broke into the home of 19-year-old Aisha Bada in the Mararaba area, threatened her, and fled with the newborn.
Police spokesman SP Ramhan Nansel said the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, immediately ordered a full-scale investigation. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives arrested the suspects in the early hours of Thursday and successfully recovered the baby from their custody.
The suspects confessed during interrogation and named another accomplice who remains at large.The baby was certified healthy at a medical facility and has since been reunited with his parents, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
