Plateau killings: ‘I saw your pain’, Bola Tinubu tells grieving motherPresident Bola Tinubu on Thursday consoled a grieving mother captured in a viral video clutching the lifeless body of her son after the recent attack in Jos, Plateau State. During a condolence visit, the President addressed the woman by name, recalling the moment that drew national attention. “I know the pain; I saw how you held your son, Ayuba. Only God can give you comfort,” he said.Tinubu told victims’ families that no amount of money could replace the lives lost but assured them of government support. His visit followed Sunday’s attack in the Angwan Rukuba area, which left at least 27 people dead and sparked widespread outrage.

The President had earlier condemned the killings, as well as a separate attack in Kaduna State, describing both incidents as barbaric and vowing that perpetrators would be brought to justice. He also cautioned against framing the violence along religious lines, warning it could worsen tensions.
