A 19-year-old Nigerian boy, Samuel Adeniyi, who went viral for selling plastic waste and cartons to raise money for his tiling tools, has received an education scholarship and over N8 million in cash donations from Nigerians. Samuel’s story, shared by content creator Bayuztv, touched many after he explained that he took up waste selling to fund his dream of becoming a professional tiler.

Samuel revealed that he learned tiling at 17 but lacked the funds to purchase essential tools such as a cutting machine and mallet, earning between N1,000 and N2,000 per sack of waste sold. Moved by his determination, Bayuztv bought him a tiling cutting machine, a new phone and gave him N50,000, while also supporting his family.

On a follow-up visit, Bayuztv presented Samuel’s mother with N1 million and additional food items, while announcing that the teenager had received over N8 million in donations alongside scholarships covering his education from secondary school to university level. Overwhelmed with joy, Samuel and his mother thanked Nigerians for the outpouring of support.
