The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, after the Divisional Police Officer in Ilaro received information that a man, identified as Godonu Lowe of Omolende Village, Idogo, was fleeing the community with a sack containing a dead body.

Police operatives intercepted the suspect and discovered the body of an adult female inside the sack. She was later identified as Lowe’s wife. Officers observed marks of violence and bleeding around her neck, indicating possible foul play. A blood-stained cutlass was also recovered.

The suspect has been taken into custody, while the victim’s remains have been deposited at the State Morgue in Ilaro for preservation and autopsy.

Ogun Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, commended the anonymous informant whose tip-off led to the arrest. He encouraged residents to continue sharing timely information, stressing that early reports can prevent crime and save lives.
