The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment.
Justice James Omotosho delivered the ruling after convicting Kanu on all seven counts of terrorism. The judge imposed life sentences on counts one, two, four, five and six, choosing life imprisonment over the death penalty.
Kanu also received a 20-year sentence on count three and a five-year sentence on count seven, both without the option of a fine.
