Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on insecurity following the latest mass abduction of schoolchildren in Niger State.
Atiku said the recurring kidnappings underscore the failure of government security strategies and called for a comprehensive, urgent response to protect citizens. He noted that the rising wave of abductions across the country is a national emergency that can no longer be handled with routine measures.
He urged authorities to deploy all necessary resources, strengthen intelligence operations, and ensure the safe rescue of the abducted children, stressing that Nigerians deserve a country where safety is guaranteed.
